Romanian–born Alina Iovita was intrigued by the business of fashion from a very early age. After working closely with a fashion designer where she developed sketches, illustrations and patterns, Alina opened a custom clothing business in 1997 offering tailored suits and evening dresses made from the finest imported, designer fabrics. A couple of years later, after relocating to Toronto, Canada, Alina opened Alina Nicole, a boutique located in the Toronto area. She designed all the garments sold in the boutique, which catered to a younger age group, as well as constructed the patterns.
In 2006 Ms. Iovita moved back to Arizona and opened her third company, Affluent Apparel, offering freelance design, pattern drafting as well as custom clothing. Affluent Apparel is currently Arizona’s only complete fashion service company. Alina followed with the start of her own high end label in the Fall of 2007. The label AYIANA was launched at the Seattle Fashion Week in January 2008 and currently sells in stores across the US.
In October 2008 Alina launched her second line at the Phoenix Runway Fashion Show. Saharan Snow is a contemporary line made mostly of eco-friendly fabrics. She gains inspiration for her collections from the look of different exotic animals as well as from her yearly travels through Europe and North America. Alina is planning on launching her signature collection in 2011.
Miss Iovita is also a member of the Advisory Board for Phoenix Runway and one of her illustrations was chosen as the logo for the Phoenix Runway organization.
